Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

Please Note: All transactions, shipping rates, and free shipping thresholds are processed in USD (United States Dollars). If you are shopping from Canada or internationally, your cart total must meet the required threshold in USD value after currency conversion to qualify for free shipping.

All orders placed on our website are shipped from Canada. Complete "In Stock" orders will usually ship within one to two business days. "Partial Stock" and "Made to Order" orders can take one to two weeks before shipping. Custom orders may take longer depending on their complexity.

Canada Orders

Orders within Canada are shipped via UPS Standard or UPS Worldwide Expedited. The estimated delivery time is approximately 3 to 7 business days once shipped.

USA Orders

Orders within the continental United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands are shipped via UPS Worldwide Expedited. Delivery takes approximately 2 to 3 business days once shipped. Please note that shipping costs for the following US territories will differ. Do not select "US" during checkout for American Samoa, Guam, or Northern Mariana Islands.

International Orders

International orders are shipped via UPS Worldwide Expedited with delivery times varying by location. Most orders will arrive within a week once shipped.

PO Box Addresses

We do not ship to PO Box addresses. Please provide a physical address at checkout.

Military Addresses

We ship to APO/FPO addresses using Canada Post. Please select "United States" as the country and choose the correct state (Armed Forces Americas, Europe, or Pacific).


Shipping Costs

To estimate your shipping costs, please add your desired products to the cart and visit our shipping cost estimator. The estimator will calculate the shipping costs based on your location and the items in your cart.

IMPORTANT: All international shipments are subject to duties and taxes charged by your country's customs upon delivery. Please be advised that if a shipment is refused by the receiver for any reason, including unpaid import fees, the package will be abandoned and no refund will be issued for the order.

What is Checkout+?
Checkout+ is an optional return shipping coverage service offered at checkout. If selected, it covers the cost of your return shipping label should you need to make a return within our 30-day policy. If not selected, return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.

• You will not pay for return shipping
• The standard 30-day return window still applies

Checkout + is only available for orders made to Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and Australia (more countries coming soon!)

When Luimoto Covers Return Shipping

We always cover return shipping if:

• You received the wrong item
• Your item arrived damaged
• There is a verified manufacturing defect

Refunds

Approved returns will be refunded to the original payment method.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable
• If Checkout+ was not selected, the return label cost will be deducted from your refund

Refunds typically process within several business days after the item is received and inspected.

If the items are in stock, they will typically ship within 1-2 business days after the order is placed. For items that are made to order, please allow up to 1-2 weeks for shipping.

Yes, you can! Simply enter the UPS Access Point address as your delivery address during checkout. Once your package arrives at the selected Access Point, UPS will notify you via email for pickup. Don't forget to bring a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, when picking up your package.

    Our products are USMCA compliant, which means they qualify as Canadian-made and are not subject to U.S. import duties or tariffs. However, you may still see:

    • State or local sales taxes, depending on your location.

    • Courier processing or brokerage fees, which are set by the carrier

  • For Worldwide Customers 
    Orders shipped outside the U.S. may be subject to import duties, VAT, local taxes, and courier handling fees in your country. These charges are determined by your local customs authorities and courier, and unfortunately are beyond our control.


Important: If you refuse your package or decline to pay import duties, your order will not be eligible for a refund. Return freight costs on international shipments are often significant, and refused packages may be abandoned before they reach us. By placing an international order, you agree to accept and pay any applicable import fees required by your country.


Our products are made in Canada and qualify as duty-free under USMCA (0% base duty). However, there are two reasons you may still see extra charges due to:

  • Processing errors: Since the August 29, 2025 de minimis change, border services review every package. With higher volume, some shipments are being misclassified and incorrectly charged.
  • You may still see: State or local sales taxes, depending on your location.

If this happens:

  • You’ll need to pay the charges to receive your package.

  • Then you can file a refund claim with UPS by emailing [email protected]


Important: If a package is refused and returned to us, return shipping fees will be deducted from any refund. In some cases, we may have to abandon the shipment, in which case the cost remains the responsibility of the receiver.


Brokerage fees are charges UPS applies when they act as your customs broker, filing paperwork and paying duties/taxes on your behalf. These fees are separate from tariffs or duties.

As the importer, you have the legal right to self-clear your package directly with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This means you handle the paperwork yourself and avoid UPS’s brokerage fees.

Seat Covers

We do not sell the entire seat unit with foam. We design and manufacture a sewn seat cover fabric which is to be installed over your OEM seat using a staple gun. Below is an example of an actual product.

CF vinyl is a marine-grade material with a carbon weave texture embossed onto the surface. It reflects light similarly to real carbon fiber, giving your seat a modern, high-tech look.

SP vinyl, on the other hand, features a leather-like texture, offering a more refined, OEM-style appearance for those seeking an enhanced factory look.

Please note, since vinyl and paint surfaces have different properties, achieving a 100% color match is challenging. However, we've carefully selected the best available colors to complement your motorcycle. If you're unsure about the color or texture, you can request free fabric swatches by placing a sample order here.

Installing the Luimoto seat cover is simple; however, it will require some patience. You will need a staple gun (an electric or pneumatic staple is preferred). Installation will involve some stretching and pulling. All orders come with detailed online instructions. Please visit our installation page to learn more.

If you do not wish to install the seat cover yourself, we recommend seeking your local automotive upholstery shop. Please remember, we are selling just the seat cover, not the entire seat assembly.

You can also send us your seat to be installed by us. Our fees are below:

Rider seat cover $50
Passenger seat cover $35
Large seat cover -> $60

Please note, you are responsible for the cost of shipping both ways.

The Moisture Barrier Poly Sheet (MBPS) goes between the Luimoto seat cover and OEM foam to provide extra wet weather protection. Before installation of the MBPS, Simply wrap it over your stock foam, either securing it with a spritz of spray glue or stapling it down to the plastic pan. Once you are satisfied with the install of the MBPS, proceed to install your Luimoto seat cover using our helpful videos or online instruction manual. Trim off any excess MBPS under the seat pan using a scissor.

*This is only included with seat cover styles that have a suede top panel or ribbing. Please note seat covers that have a suede top panel with ribbing has this already built in and doesn't come with an additional one.

Luimoto Marine-Grade Vinyl:

  • Wash with mild soap and water and rinse. Wipe off any remaining excess water with a clean chamois.
  • For stubborn stains, take a nylon bristled toothbrush and use mild soap and water and work the area in a circular motion. Repeat until stain has been removed.
  • Do not use any kind of store bought vinyl cleaners as the seat cover could become slippery making it unsafe to operate a motorcycle.

Luimoto Suede:

  • Use a clean soft nylon bristled brush to quickly remove dust off suede
  • Wash your bike like you usually would with mild soap and water and rinse
  • Soak up excess water with chamoise or sponge and allow 15 minutes of air drying under the sun
  • Do not rub or use any hard bristles on the suede while its wet.
  • Do not use any mechanical upholstery/carpet cleaner to clean the suede.
  • Do not allow the suede to stay wet and dry out on its own
  • Do not allow suede to sit under the sun all year round uncovered
  • Following these steps should ensure long life of your Luimoto suede seat cover

All seat covers are inspected before shipping. We will guarantee the quality of the workmanship, thread and vinyl for 1 year of the purchase date under normal use. Warranty will be void if the vinyl is at anytime of ownership, been exposed to gasoline, or other damaging chemicals.

If the seat cover is installed improperly, damaged during installation, or if the seat was damaged under any other circumstances (tipping the bike, traffic accident), the seat cover will not be covered under warranty. Also, using products other than the ones recommended to maintain/clean the seat cover will void the warranty.

Yes, you can! Elastic is often included in new seat cover designs for ease of installation. Many motorcycle seats, including those from OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), feature elastic for the same purpose.

Unfortunately we do not work on aftermarket seats. Our seat cover patterns will only fit on the specific unmodified OEM seat.

Gel Insert (Gold Gel)

Gold Gel is specifically designed to absorb and distribute road shock and vibrations. This leads to less rider fatigue, resulting in longer ride times. Gold Gel is not a soft material like most gel inserts on the market. This means that it will not bottom and provides a comfortable and supportive ride at all times.

Gold Gel integrates into your existing seat foam, leaving the seat shape unaltered. Luimoto Designer Seat Covers fit perfectly over the seat seamlessly creating a beautiful and comfortable seat.

If you do not wish to install the seat cover yourself, we recommend seeking your local automotive upholstery shop. A typical install fee should range between $20.00 to $60.00 per seat, depending on the size and complexity of the install. Please remember, we are selling just the seat cover, not the entire seat assembly.

You can also send us your seat to be installed by us. Our fees are below:

(GG1) Rider or (GG2) Passenger Kit Install $100 (Add $20 if your seat is a large / long seat)

(GG3) Rider and Passenger or (GG4) Large Kit Install $160

Install fee also includes un-installation and installation of your seat cover.

Please note, you are responsible for the cost of shipping both ways.

Unfortunately we only suggest installing our Gold Gel R kit if your seat heating element is underneath your seat foam. If your seat heating element is on top of your seat foam then we do not recommend any gel installation.

Here's a comparison to help you decide:

  • Full Gold Gel Insert:

    • Thickness: 1 cm.
    • Comfort: Provides maximum comfort due to its thicker design.
    • Installation: Requires more effort since you need to cut into your seat foam.
    • Recommendation: Best for offering the highest level of support and comfort.

  • New R Version:

    • Thickness: 0.5 cm.
    • Comfort: Still offers additional comfort but less than the full gold gel insert due to its thinner design.
    • Installation: More convenient as it only needs to be placed on top of the foam and can be used with the OEM cover.
    • Recommendation: Easier to install, suitable for moderate comfort enhancement.

Both options will enhance your comfort. If you prefer ease of installation and decent comfort, go for the new R version. If you're willing to put in the extra effort for maximum comfort, the full gold gel insert is the better choice.

Yes, it is common for riders to use both the Full Gold Gel Insert (GG1) and the R Version (GGR1) together. Combining these inserts can maximize comfort, particularly for long rides. This is because our production process begins immediately after receiving approval, and alterations to the order would require us to start the process over from the beginning, which would cause delays and additional expenses.

The shipping cost for custom orders is typically calculated and provided in the final invoice, based on the specific details of your order, including the size, weight, and destination of the package.

To get an estimate of the shipping cost before finalizing your custom order, you can use the following method:

De Minimis & Tariffs

As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. suspended its $800 de minimis exemption—an exemption that previously allowed low-value Canadian parcels into the U.S. without duties, taxes, or full customs clearance. This means all shipments, regardless of value, are now reviewed by U.S. Customs.

Our seat covers are USMCA-compliant and normally duty-free. However, some shipments may still face charges under:

Customs processing errors – Occasionally, USMCA-eligible products are incorrectly processed, leading to wrongful duties.


FAQ: Duties & Import Fees (U.S. Customers)

Will I have to pay duties or extra import fees?

No. Our products are Canadian-made and qualify under USMCA as duty-free.
We ship exclusively with UPS Expedited, which includes brokerage service, so there should be no additional duties, tariffs, or fees charged by UPS or U.S. Customs (CBP).

Why was I charged a tariff if my order is duty-free?

This can happen if your shipment was processed incorrectly by UPS or U.S. Customs. Even though your order qualifies as duty-free, an error may temporarily trigger a tariff.

  2. File a claim for reimbursement with UPS at [email protected] (include tracking number, invoice, and note that the goods are USMCA duty-free).

We manufacture seat covers not a full seat. Our seat covers require installation on your own unmodified OEM seat. We also sell gold gel inserts separately that also requires installation.

We recommend a quick rinse with water or use mild soap if it's really dirty.

Our seat covers are made from marine-grade vinyl, which offers excellent water resistance. However, to further protect your saddle, we recommend using a dedicated weather protector or applying a water-repellent spray suitable for vinyl. Regular maintenance can also help prevent water damage.
